Metis Bali is a French Mediterranean, fine dining restaurant along the Jalan Petitenget in Kerobokan (north of the Seminyak area). Metis offers dinners a "sensory dining" experience combining a restaurant, bar and lounge as well as a gallery and boutique under one roof. The 350 seat Restaurant, bar and lounge and private dining venue offers dinners exciting menu selections crafted by chef owner Nicolas "Doudou" Tourneville, who brings his legendary talent and culinary artistry to the table with a masterful combination of French and Mediterranean flavours.
Metis Bali's bar lounge features an exclusive collection of wines from around the world. Here connoisseurs can enjoy speciality wines by the glass or bottle, as well as classic and original cocktails. At the bar, patrons may also savour small plate selections while enjoying world music from live DJ's. Metis enjoys a terrace and veranda that overlook adjacent rice fields. Upbeat vibes are the feature of the full bar downstairs. The veranda lounge is an optimal corner to enjoy a cocktail. The private cellar at Metis is another highlight that serves as an intimate space for up to 10 guests. A long table is surrounded by an array of wine bottles and artwork.
A fully air-conditioned banquet hall features more panoramic views of rice fields and is reserved for special occasions, be they receptions, luncheons, or private anniversaries and business meetings and has its own private bar; its accommodates up to 120 dinners. Metis Bali serves lunch and dinner, with lunch menu highlights that include organic wild rocket salad with crumbled feta cheese or roasted pumpkin and pear with pine nuts and balsamic dressing for starters. Soups, sandwiches and pastas feature extensive choices, and main course include grilled fish of the day, yellow fin tuna steak a'la plancha, barbecued pork ribs and grilled moroccan lamb kefta. The dinner menu is more extensive, with intriguing selections such as 14 hours crispy pork belly, half boneless roasted quail and 250gr grilled Australian Black Angus rib eye steak. The dessert list includes trio cremee brulee of green tea, ginger and lemongrass, vanilla and raspberry, and the assorted sweet temptation consisting of mille-feuille, cremee brulee, manjari chocolate dome, mango sable, and yuzu meringue tart that serves two.
The founder was best known as the person behind the legendary Cafe Warisan which closed in 2009. Now at Metis, chef and owner Nicolas Tourneville leads a team of world class, Balinese chefs, executive chef Arief Wicaksosno, and executive sous chef Putu Sudarsana. Not only showcasing fine cuisine, metis Bali also features unique traditional and contemporary Balinese art. Also found throughout are displays of hand crafted jewellery pieces, objects d'art, contemporary photographs and paintings, and a collection of Asian statues and figurines. Vi Ai Pi is established at September 4th 2008 as Tapaz Bar. After 3 years it's concept was changed to Western and Italian Restaurant, with Vi Ai Pi Club and Lounge on the 2nd floor, also adding the Under Ground Bar, Located at the back of Vi Ai Pi. Vi Ai Pi opens every day from 11:00 am until 3:00 am. Located in Jalan Legian next to Bali Memorial, they provide big free parking space right behind their restaurant for all their customers. They serve Italian, Western and Indonesian cuisines, with price between 35K and 200K. The restaurant has capacity of 200 persons (sitting), while the club fits 400 400 persons (standing). Special package for private dining or parties is available.
