The
newly opened Piduh Restaurant has a quite location in Petitenget, an area
increasingly known for fine dining and a good variety of restaurant. The ornate
joglo that houses the restaurant is atmospheric and filled with the sound of
contemporary Javanese music playing softly. A gentle breeze comes from the lush
green garden. Classic decorations include antique wayang (Javanese Puppet), a
gramophone, classic, black and white Javanese pictures, old batik fabrics, and
recycled teak and furniture. The building was previously an art gallery so it
comes as no surprise to find all these lovely old pieces of art.
We take
a seat in the joglo, where friendly staff dressed in Balinese batik wraps greet
us with Balinese hospitality. You can also sit outside in the charming garden
where pavilions stacked with cushions make private and very romantic dining
spots, and neon lights create a stunning ambience in the evenings.
With a concept
of Pan Asian Fare and Grill, Piduh serves an eclectic Asian dominated menu that
is presented and processed to match International taste. You will find
traditional Indonesian and Balinese food, and a good range of steaks and grills
alongside appetizers, soups, salads, pasta and burgers. The name Piduh comes
from a leaf that tastes quite bitter, and is believed to strengthen the memory,
increase appetite and fresh the body. The leaf is used in some of the dishes on
the menu, such as Mings Big Salad, a healthy salad with, cucumber, tomato,
black olives, imported celery, lettuce, bell pepper, and Piduh hand-picked from
the garden the balsamic dressing and feta cheese create an undeniably good
taste collaboration.
Bebek
goreng ala Piduh is fried duck with Balinese sauce served with steamed rice and
vegetable urap (spicy sauted vegetables). On the side are two kinds of chilli
condiments; sambal ijo made with green chillis, and sambel ulek made with fresh
red chillis.
From
dessert list choose Strawberry Mellow a beautiful looking sweet and fruity
treat served in a very chic glass. It tastes as good as it looks with a
combination of strawberry and vanilla ice cream, simple syrup and martel, mixed
with fresh strawberries, passion fruit, and dragon fruit.
The drink
menu is rich with options for coffee lovers, tea lovers, or Belgian beer lovers
– with 21 belgian beers on offer, tropical fruit concoctions include papaya a
pears, a fragrant drink of sweet papaya and pear which is lifted with lemon and
apple juice. Another good thirst quencher is Pineapple Lush made with fresh
pineapple, crushed mint leaf, brown sugar, and topped with black tea.
Piduh
restaurant offers a cool place to hang out during the day and a romantic venue
at night with your choice of antique joglo setting or picturesque Garden. It is
open from 09.00 Am to 11.00 Pm.
